As a parent of two healthy boys who were diagnosed with Autism, it took me awhile to make the link between vaccines like MMR and Autism. After our youngest, who was very healthy and ate well, developed irritable bowel syndrome/disease after the MMR shot was administered, along with three other shots on the same day, at 12 months, helped alert me to the unfathomable: the linkage between "medicine" and disability. It took three years before his stools returned to normal as his body and mind healed.
His brother --16 months his senior-- had received the same protocol at 12 months (all vaccines on same day) as was/is the norm in the military health system. He developed a fever and was very irritable right after the shots to the point where we, his parents, contemplated driving to the ER as he wouldn't stop screaming in the car. He'd never screamed like that before. Piercing screams. But he quieted down as I comforted him and held him. We concluded he'd had a mild reaction to the shots as we'd been by medical professionals that some children do have a mild reaction but quickly are fine.
Their story of struggle and recovery will be told in due course as their recovery is a testimony to hope and successful treatment. Notwithstanding the odds, if an aggressive intervention/treatment that entails no medicines but includes a daily schedule of behavioral and speech intervention, among other recovery tools, many of these children outgrow the poisoning and the neurological damage as their neurons reconfigure. In short, early intervention works and, in quite a few cases involving otherwise healthy and intelligent children, there is a complete or near complete recovery.
Sadly the profit motive in the medical establishment outweighs the social and human costs. In such an environment, more professionals like Dr. Wakefield are desperately needed. Every parent and soon-to-be parent needs to be aware of the dangers associated with certain vaccines.
Dr. Wakefield is a hero who has been demonized and ostracized by the medical establishment for raising valid questions/concerns given the explosion of Autism cases impacting perfectly healthy children after receiving vaccines.
If you listen carefully (and PLEASE don't dismiss this interview because it might be on a show hosted by someone (in this case the Alex Jones Show) you may not agree with 100% of the time or at all) and cogitate what the good doctor is saying, vice the vitriol and lies spread about him and his colleagues who placed their careers on the line to expose the truth about Big Pharma.
Dr Wakefield is saying immunization is good and necessary but we need greater scrutiny and a re-examination of schedules, and number of vaccines administered to infants and children whose bodies cannot handle live viruses and/or thimerosal. Second, how combination vaccines like the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella), which was introduced in the US in 1971, aren't even effective when combined. Rather, the measles vaccine works best when administered as one separate dose. There is a reason that the MMR is banned in Japan.
This interview should be widely circulated and the public needs to demand greater accountability and ending the conflict of interest in the current revolving door policy vis-a-vis CDC & FDA and big pharmaceuticals.
